Gwyneth PhilipsAthens brick wall helmet · Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics women's ice hockey

The story

Philips' Olympic goalie helmet has her usual hometown design, a brick wall on the backplate, an ode to Athens, Ohio (Athens used to make its own bricks); the words 'Athens block' that normally appear there were left off for the Games to avoid breaking IOC rules, and the wall also nods to her role as a goaltender.
