The story

A design based on Ayrton Senna's helmet, which Irvine adopted in Japanese Formula Nippon as a tribute to the Brazilian, with Irish colours in place of Senna's: orange for the yellow and green for the contrasting stripes, the orange later replaced by Marlboro's bright red when he gained the brand's sponsorship.
