Juan Pablo MontoyaSteinmetz diamonds helmet · Monaco Grand Prix

The story

Steinmetz made a one-race helmet for Montoya with his name pave-set in diamonds, built so the stones would stay in place in bad weather; he wore it through practice, qualifying and the race, climbing from 16th on the grid to fifth, after which McLaren passed it to a donor who had made charitable gifts on the team's behalf.
